Chuseok is Korea’s Thanksgiving, occurring in September or October depending on the lunar calendar. This year, Chuseok was during the first week of October and lasted 10 days!

During Chuseok, many people travel in or out of Korea. Koreans travel to spend time with their families, and expats travel to take advantage of the long vacation or to spend time with friends and their families. Traveling during Chuseok is a hassle, but it doesn’t have to be. With these awesome tips and useful apps, your trip can be as smooth as butter!

The first and most important tip for traveling during Chuseok is planning ahead! It is very important to plan ahead because all types of tickets sell out and become more difficult to purchase. If you plan to fly out of the country or even travel by bus or train within the country, it will be difficult and possibly more expensive to obtain a ticket.

The next tip is to download useful travel apps. If you plan to stay in Korea, these apps will be a lifesaver!

The first applications I talk about in the video are map apps. There are three apps I mention, with the first one being the best and an all-in-one app. Next, I talk about local apps that you can use for the city you are traveling to or staying in, such as bus and subway apps. I also mention an application you can use to easily purchase your train tickets in advance!

There are so many useful transportation apps, but I have found the specific apps in the video to be the most popular and the most helpful. Let me know what your favorite app is and any other apps not mentioned in this video that you use or have heard of!
