Passport Photos

A Professional-Looking Photo

This photo will be used on any program or position application that you fill out. Korvia will also use this photo to market you to schools. As you will need another photo later for the visa process it is recommended to use a passport-sized format so that you can use one photo all uses!

To find out more about about recommended crop sizes, positioning, and format, please click below for more information.

Enroll in a 120-hour TEFL Course

As of 2014, all public school programs now require teachers to be TEFL certified. Being certified will also make you able to teach in any type of school in the future in South Korea, whether it be in the public sector or private sector. It’s better to be over-qualified than under-qualified.

While Korvia knows that this requirement can cost a bit of money as well as some time, we are proud to announce we have partnered with a TEFL organization called the London College of Teachers to bring our candidates a quality TEFL course at a low price and versatile pace.

Our exclusive partnership with LCT allows the following:

  • Faster assignment grading return times
  • Separate customer service channels
  • Digital certificate issuance directly to school or Korvia

To learn more about the course click the button below for more information.

Self-Introduction Video

A Self-Introduction Video is a short video that a candidate creates to demonstrate their personality, skills, and/or teaching style.

Introduction Videos should be between 2-3 minutes and show off your personality as well as your philosophy on teaching.

Lesson Plan Demonstrative Video

A lesson plan demonstration video should primarily focus on how you can make your lesson plan come alive. You have to use the sample lesson plan you came up with as part of your GOE application. The video should last 3-5 minutes. There are no strict rules yet so let your creativity fly.

  • This video is not mandatory however please feel free to make one if you want to make your GOE application very competitive.
Korvia Letter of Recommendation

Obtain Two (2) Letters of Recommendation

Applicants must obtain and have ready two (2) letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources. Academic sources can include individuals such as past or current professors, guidance-counselors, etc.

One of the most aspects of the letter of recommendations is that it contains an ink signature from the referrer. LORs for this part of the stage just need to be scanned and submitted. You will not need to physically submit this by mail until a later point.

Passport Info Page

The Passport Info Page or Passport Info Pages are the first two pages of your passport. The first page contains your signature and the second page contains all of your personal identification information.

Please use a copy setting that clearly shows both the passport photo and the text on the passport. If the current passport expiration date appeas on another page, please make a copy of that page as well.

I’ve got them all! I’m ready for the next step!

To move onto the next step please fill out the Korvia online application form and get a recommendation by Korvia recruiter to GOE
