Where Can I Teach in Gyeongnam?
Gyeongsangnam-do covers Korea's southern coast with cities ranging from the industrial capital of Changwon to the island paradise of Geoje.
GOE teachers are placed in public schools across Gyeongsangnam-do province. Unlike Seoul, specific city or school selection is not available — but most GOE placements are in or near Changwon, Gimhae, or Jinju where school density is highest. The province is 2-3°C warmer than Seoul year-round, with milder winters and access to Korea's most beautiful coastline.

Getting to Busan from Gyeongnam
One of Gyeongnam's biggest advantages is proximity to Busan — Korea's second-largest city (3.4 million people). Changwon is 40 minutes by express bus, Gimhae is 30 minutes by light rail, and Yangsan is 15 minutes by KTX. Weekend trips to Haeundae Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, and Jagalchi Fish Market are easy.
For teachers wanting a quieter daily life but access to a major city on weekends, Gyeongnam offers the best of both worlds at a fraction of Seoul's living costs.
