Paid Vacation | Korvia Guide

Paid Vacation is the allotted time that is given to teachers to be away from school during times when classes are not in session. Paid vacation is a benefit provided by public school programs such as EPIK, GEPIK, and SMOE.

Allotments

EPIK
EPIK allows up to 18 days of Paid Vacation to be used during 1 academic year.

GEPIK
GEPIK allows up to 20 days of Paid Vacation to be taken during 1 academic year.

SMOE
SMOE allows up to 18 days of Paid Vacation to be used during 1 academic year.

GOE
EPIK allows up to 18 days of Paid Vacation to be used during 1 academic year.

Hagwons
Paid Vacation for hagwons can vary but usually range from 5-10 days per contract.

Vacation Stipulations

Paid vacation dates is decided by the school and may only be taken when classes are not in session (e.g. winter/summer break). Schools may require that vacation days be broken up (not taken continuously) in order to fit around camp and extracurricular class schedules.

Paid & Unpaid Vacation Days

Teachers must abide by the amount of days allotted to them in their contract. Teachers may be able to take more vacation upon approval of their school administration, however these extra days will not be paid.
