What to Bring for Arrival Day
Keep these eight items in your carry-on, not your checked luggage — you'll need them at immigration and on your first night in Korea.
Passport + E-2 Visa
Your passport must have the E-2 teaching visa sticker affixed by the Korean consulate before you fly.
Documents (Copies Only)
Do NOT bring original documents unless EPIK specifically requested them; copies plus your apostilled originals already submitted are sufficient.
Prescriptions & Medications
Enough supply for the first 1–2 months, plus copies of prescriptions in English from your doctor.
Debit/Credit Card + KRW Cash
Bring KRW cash (Korean won) for the first few days — not USD — plus a debit card that works internationally for ATM withdrawals.
Power Adapter (Type C/F)
Korea uses 220V, Type C/F outlets. Bring at least one adapter for your first night.
Business-Casual Clothes
Smart outfits for orientation sessions, demo lessons, and school introductions — conservative styling.
Unlocked Phone
An unlocked smartphone so you can insert a Korean SIM card on arrival and use KakaoTalk, Naver Maps, and Papago.
Printed Itinerary & Contacts
A printed copy of your flight details, Korvia contact, and the Korean taxi note in case your phone runs out of battery.
