EPIK Spring 2027 agency applications are closed
As of October 2026, EPIK has told its partner recruiting agencies that agency applications for Spring 2027 are closed, so Korvia is no longer taking new Spring 2027 EPIK applications. Public-school jobs outside EPIK, such as direct hires by an office of education or a city program, very rarely go to teachers who have not taught in Korea before.

A Professional-Looking Photo
This photo will be used on the EPIK application that you fill out online. Leaving a good first impression is important, so try using a passport-style or professional photo, as you will need another photo later for the visa process. Using a passport-sized format is recommended so you can use one photo for all uses!

Obtain Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must obtain and have ready two (2) letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources. Academic sources can include individuals such as past or current professors, supervisors, managers, etc.
One of the most important aspects of the letter of recommendation is that it contains an ink signature from the writer. For the initial online application, scanned PDF copies are sufficient. Ink-signed originals are submitted later with your final document packet after you pass the EPIK interview.

Enroll in a 100+ Hour TEFL Course
As of 2014, public school programs in Korea require a 100+ hour TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate — unless you hold a teaching license, PGCE, B.Ed., M.Ed., or an Education-focused major. Being certified also broadens your options beyond EPIK to any school type in Korea, public or private.

EPIK has not opened the Fall 2027 application yet; it is expected on February 1, 2027.
EPIK's sign-up steps on JinhakApply (as used for Spring 2027)
- Open the intake's application from EPIK's Apply page and select Create Account. Use an email address you will keep, because EPIK says it cannot be changed afterward.
- Select Others, or type EPIK in the search bar, then choose EPIK (English Program in Korea).
- Select Application and complete the form. Each section saves when you click Proceed, so you can finish over several sessions.
- Submit once. EPIK accepts one application per intake and does not allow a change of classification after a final result.

* Please don't forget to select “Classification” as Agency - Korvia Consulting when you are completing the EPIK online application form. Our Korvia team can't access and review your application if you fail to select the correct classification.

Can I still apply for EPIK Spring 2027 through Korvia?
No. As of October 2026, EPIK has told its partner recruiting agencies that agency applications for Spring 2027 are closed, so Korvia is no longer taking new Spring 2027 EPIK applications. Public-school jobs outside EPIK, such as direct hires by an office of education or a city program, very rarely go to teachers who have not taught in Korea before. If this is your first teaching job in Korea, you have two realistic routes: a private-sector role at a hagwon (private academy), which hires all year, or EPIK Fall 2027, with applications expected to open on February 1, 2027.
When does the EPIK Fall 2027 application open?
EPIK Fall 2027 applications are expected to open on February 1, 2027. EPIK has not announced the date yet. Register with Korvia before then so your documents are ready when the form opens.
Should I apply directly to EPIK or through Korvia?
You can submit the official EPIK online application yourself, but applying with Korvia gives you free document review, application guidance, interview coaching, and arrival support from EPIK's official recruiting partner since 2008.
What should I prepare before starting the EPIK application?
Prepare a professional photo, two recommendation letters, resume and lesson-plan materials, passport information, and a 100+ hour TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate or qualifying exemption. Final documents such as apostilled degree and criminal record check are usually handled after the interview stage.
What is the most important Korvia selection step inside the EPIK form?
When completing the official EPIK application, select Classification as Agency - Korvia Consulting. If this is not selected, Korvia may not be able to access, review, and support your application file.
Can Korvia review my EPIK application before I submit it?
Yes. Korvia can review your application materials, flag missing details, and help you prepare before submission. This support is free for teachers applying through Korvia.
Do I need a TOPIK score report for EPIK?
No. For Spring 2027, EPIK asks at the interview whether you have ever taken the NIIED Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) and, if so, for a copy of the score report. It is optional, used for reference only, and does not affect evaluation or selection. EPIK has not yet published its Fall 2027 guidance.
