Welcome to Team Korvia!
You are here because you are almost ready to go and get started! We just need a few things from you so that we can begin!

A Professional-Looking Photo
This photo will be used on any program or position application that you fill out. Korvia will also use this photo to market you to schools. As you will need another photo later for the visa process it is recommended to use a passport-sized format so that you can use one photo all uses!

Enroll in a 100-hour TEFL Course
As of 2014, all public school programs now require teachers to be TEFL certified. Being certified will also make you able to teach in any type of school in the future in South Korea, whether it be in the public sector or private sector. It’s better to be over-qualified than under-qualified.
While Korvia knows that this requirement can cost a bit of money as well as some time, we are proud to announce we have partnered with a TEFL organization called the Global Training Academy to bring our candidates a quality TEFL course at a low price and versatile pace.
Our exclusive partnership with GTA allows the following:

- Faster assignment grading return times
- Separate customer service channels
- Digital certificate issuance directly to school or Korvia

Obtain Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must obtain and have ready two (2) letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources. Academic sources can include individuals such as past or current professors, guidance-counselors, etc.

One of the most aspects of the letter of recommendations is that it contains an ink signature from the referrer. LORs for this part of the stage just need to be scanned and submitted. You will not need to physically submit this by mail until a later point.

Create a Self-Introduction Video
An introduction video is used to market you to potential schools for securing an interview. These videos have no set format. So you can be as creative as you would like! Videos should aim to be:

- 2-3 minutes in length
- Tell about yourself and why you would make a great teacher in Korea
- Demonstrate your speaking style
- Be posted as an unlisted (invisible to search) video on YouTube or Vimeo
