Key Stations
Cheongna International City Station
Cheongna International City (청라국제도시) is the third of Incheon's major planned new towns, after Songdo and Yeongjong, developed from 2007 on reclaimed tidal flats in the western part of Incheon. Its defining public space is Cheongna Lake Park (청라호수공원) — a large artificial lake park surrounded by apartment towers, with cycling paths, outdoor amphitheatre, and a water feature.
Cheongna is positioned as an international business and residential district, with a planned International Business District (IBD) that attracts foreign-invested companies. The AREX Airport Railroad stop at Cheongna provides 20-minute access to Incheon International Airport and 35-minute access to Hongdae and central Seoul. For English teachers, Cheongna has a growing hagwon market as the population base (currently ~90,000 residents) matures. The International District designation means higher-than-average English proficiency among residents and a genuine demand for quality English instruction.
Cost of Living
1-bedroom: 500,000–900,000 KRW/month. Premium for Incheon but reasonable for international city status and airport proximity. Meals: 8,000–13,000 KRW.
Housing
Modern 2010s–2020s apartment complexes, well-maintained. Lake Park view units command a premium. Good mix of unit sizes.
