GOE / EPIK

GOE Application Timeline (2026)

GOE positions are filled through the EPIK application process.

GOE (Gyeongnam) positions are recruited through the national EPIK program. Apply 3-5 months before your target start date. EPIK has two main intakes: Spring (March) and Fall (September). Fall 2026 applications opened February 1, 2026 at 9:00 AM KST.

Application Process

1

Apply Through Korvia (3-5 months before)

Submit your application through Korvia with resume, degree, and TEFL certificate. Korvia reviews your documents and provides feedback before forwarding to EPIK. As EPIK's exclusive partner, applications through Korvia receive priority processing.

2

Document Preparation (2-4 weeks)

Prepare and apostille your criminal background check, university diploma, and transcripts. Korvia provides a step-by-step document checklist. This is typically the longest step — start your background check early.

3

EPIK Interview (1-2 weeks after document submission)

Complete a video interview or demo lesson. EPIK evaluates your communication skills, teaching aptitude, and cultural adaptability. Korvia provides interview preparation tips based on 20 years of placement experience.

4

Placement Notification (2-4 weeks after interview)

EPIK notifies you of your provincial placement. Request Gyeongnam as your preferred province during the application. Korvia advocates for your preference during the matching process.

5

Visa Processing (3-4 weeks)

Your assigned school sponsors your E-2 teaching visa. Apply at your nearest Korean embassy or consulate with the visa issuance number provided by EPIK.

6

Orientation & Arrival

Attend mandatory EPIK orientation (approximately 1 week). Then travel to your GOE school in Gyeongnam with housing pre-arranged.
