About This Position

This position is with TYLC (Taejeon Christian International School Young Learner Center), located in Daejeon. The school is currently looking for a warm, energetic, and cooperative teacher who enjoys working with young learners in both a storytelling and elementary ESL environment.

One unique aspect of this role is the morning kindergarten library program. During these sessions, each kindergarten class visits the library, and the teacher reads 2–3 storybooks aloud to the children in an interactive and engaging way. Each class lasts approximately 20 minutes, and the focus is on helping young learners develop listening skills, interest in books, and confidence with English through storytelling activities.

In the afternoons, the teacher will teach elementary afterschool classes for 1st–3rd grade students using provided American textbooks and reading comprehension materials. The curriculum and daily lesson plans are fully prepared by the school, so teachers can focus more on classroom interaction and student engagement rather than lesson creation.

Working hours are 10:00AM–7:00PM Monday through Thursday and 10:00AM–5:00PM on Fridays. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 12 students per class.

The school offers furnished housing within a 5-minute walk from the campus, located next to one of the largest parks in Daejeon. Housing allowance is also available as an option. Additional benefits include one-way airfare support (for teachers coming from overseas), pension, health insurance, severance pay, provided lunch, and a negotiable salary starting from 2.6 million KRW depending on qualifications and experience.

Training and orientation begin in mid-July 2026, and Zoom training can be arranged for teachers currently working elsewhere in Korea.
