Do I need to take a TEFL course with an in-class component?

EPIK's published eligibility page, checked on October 26, 2026, asks for a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate of at least 100 hours from an accredited program. Neither that page nor EPIK's General Required Documents Guide (Spring 2026) lists an in-class hour requirement. The guide does ask that the certificate clearly state the number of real-time hours completed.

Other programs may set their own rules.
