Korvia Spring Party 2026 Recap — Itaewon (100+ Teachers)

Published: May 6, 2026 · 8 min read

On Friday, April 25, Korvia brought together teachers, recruiters, and the guests for an exciting afternoon of games and community at our Spring 2026 Party. With the pleasant spring weather finally arriving after weeks of cold days, it was the perfect chance for everyone to come together.

Where was the venue? At Waikiki Beach Potcha, Itaewon!

Located a short walk from Itaewon Station Exit 3, the venue's covered patio and stage area provided the perfect setting for the day's activities. Though it was only April, the venue's palm trees, two spacious floors, and large screen gave the space an easygoing tropical vibe. It was the perfect spot for everyone to gather, connect, and enjoy the warm 25°C spring weather.

Hosted by Kesung Anderson

The event was hosted by Kesung Anderson, who has become a familiar face at Korvia through several TV shows. He is a former U.S. national track athlete, known to Korean audiences through shows such as KBS1's Hometown at 6 (6시 내고향), MBN's My Neighbor Charles (이웃집 찰스), and JTBC's Stars of Korea (대한외국인).

Korvia Trivia Quiz

The afternoon's first headline event was the Blooket quiz battle — a 20-question rapid-fire round covering Korean culture, EPIK trivia, classroom Konglish, and a few deliberately impossible curveballs. After a practice round at 2:10 PM, the main competition kicked off at 2:20 PM, and the venue was filled with excitement, and everybody was thrilled for some trivia.

When the dust settled, the leaderboard was: Sandra in 1st, Thomas in 2nd, and Colleen in 3rd. Each podium finisher walked away with a prize, extra Purple Raffle tickets, and serious bragging rights in the Kakao group chats. (For anyone new to Korea: yes, every teacher cohort has a KakaoTalk group, and yes, the Korvia Spring Party leaderboard is canon.)

Squid Game Dalgona Challenge

In the second game of the Netflix hit Squid Game, the main character (Number 456) chooses the umbrella-shaped cookie but somehow manages to survive the challenge. To bring a bit of that same excitement to our Spring Party, our sponsor Korean Safari introduced the Dalgona Challenge as a special activity for guests to experience firsthand.

The challenge quickly became one of the afternoon's biggest highlights, drawing plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and lots of concentration as attendees carefully attempted to carve out their shapes without breaking the candy. Congratulations to everyone who successfully completed the challenge!

Polaroid Photo Time

Throughout the afternoon, Korvia's EPIK Team recruiters walked around the venue taking Polaroid photos for guests. We’ve captured some candid moments as attendees chatted, played games, and spent time with new friends. As we were planning the party, we wanted everyone to take home a physical memory from the event.

Event Partners & Grand Raffle Highlights

A huge thank you to our event partners, SentBe, Kimchi Mobile, Korean Safari, and Waikiki Beach Pocha — for helping make the Korvia Spring Party 2026 such a fun and memorable afternoon. Their support added so much to the event and helped create an even better experience for everyone who joined us.

The afternoon closed with our signature two-tier raffle. The Purple Raffle rewarded earned tickets from check-in, quiz wins, and game participation. The Golden Raffle, sponsored by SentBe, was the headline draw — anyone with a SentBe app install or prior transfer history was eligible for the grand prize Apple AirPods, alongside a Kodak Charmera 1987 retro camera, JBL portable speaker, K-beauty cosmetic sets, and Waikiki Beach Pocha dining vouchers.

Looking Ahead

Korvia hosts community events twice a year to bring teachers together, help people make new connections, and build friendships within Korea's English teaching community.

We’re already getting started on planning our next party for September or October 2026, and we'll share the official date as soon as everything is confirmed. We hope to see many familiar faces again, along with plenty of new ones.
