On Saturday, October 3, 2026— National Foundation Day — Korvia took its fall party out of the bar and onto the street. For KORVIA's 20th year, we set up with KFTRA inside the 15th Gangnam Festival on Dosan-daero, and more than 150 people checked in at our booth: teachers on EPIK and hagwon contracts, the friends they brought, and school partners.
Check-in at Information booth No. 4
The booth sat in the festival's Food & K-Culture zone, right next to the BBQ zone. Check-in ran from 1 to 2 PM: scan the QR code, see your raffle ticket colour on screen, and pick up green, purple or golden tickets from our staff. People who had RSVP'd got two tickets, and people Korvia already knew got three. Guests who shared their nationality came from 25 countries.
The quiz show
At 2 PM the stage switched to quiz mode. Everyone joined on their phones through Blooket — general knowledge, Gangnam trivia and a few questions about Korvia — and the leaderboard on the big screen did the rest. Strangers became teams pretty quickly.
20 years of Korvia, in gold
2026 marks twenty years since KORVIA started placing English teachers in Korea. We marked it with a commemorative coin — Celebrating 20 Years · 2006–2026 — on the table at our booth.
The raffle
The raffle was drawn live on stage at 5:30 PM. Every ticket went into the same black box, and the prizes — a MacBook, an iPad, AirPods and more — were all provided by KORVIA. Congratulations to every winner, and thank you to everyone who stayed for the draw.
The rest of the festival
Between rounds, the street did the work. The Grand Parade rolled down Dosan-daero at 4 PM, and the Event Zone around our booth had something for everyone.
Sunday: PSY on Dosan-daero
The next evening, pass holders on KFTRA's list went to the Gangnam Festival K-POP Concert, with PSY as the special guest. Thank you to KFTRA for the passes.
