EPIK itself doesn't publish a single fixed cut-off — documents are reviewed on a rolling, first-come basis. June 12, 2026 is the submission deadline Korvia has set for the Fall 2026 cohort: the date to get your completed packet to the Korvia office so our team can review it and forward it to EPIK in time for this intake. Because EPIK works first-come-first-served, sending early genuinely helps your placement odds — and missing the cohort deadline can slow your file down or, if it pushes you past the intake timeline, put your Fall 2026 placement at risk.

EPIK application form (printed)
All 12 pages, ink-signed on page 6 — essays and lesson plan included.
National criminal record check
Apostille requiredNational-level (FBI / RCMP / Basic DBS / AFP, etc.). Valid 6 months from issue.
Bachelor's degree diploma

Two sets of sealed transcripts

Two recommendation letters

Conditional extras
Varies by persone.g. UK/Australia apostilled birth certificate; South Africa/Quebec proof of English-medium education; higher-salary teaching letters.
Not on the list: a signed employment contract or a health/medical statement. Your contract and Notice of Appointment (NOA)are issued later — after an Office of Education accepts your placement — and sent to you for your visa. EPIK doesn't require a health statement at this stage; medical checks happen during orientation.
What needs an apostille (and what doesn't)
Korea is part of the Hague Apostille Convention. Two documents must be apostilled — each one separately:
- Your Bachelor's degree diploma — apostilled by the competent authority where your university is located.
- Your national-level criminal record check — apostilled, national-level only (state/provincial/local checks are not accepted), and valid within 6 months.
- UK & Australia only: an apostilled birth or citizenship certificate (FCDO for the UK, DFAT for Australia).
Your TEFL certificate, transcripts, photos, and application form do notneed an apostille. (If you hold a Master's in education and want to start at a higher salary, it can be apostilled together with your Bachelor's — ask your recruiter.) New to the process? Where and how to mail your packet
Send your completed final documents to the Korvia office in Korea — not to EPIK directly. Korvia checks your packet first, then forwards it to EPIK.

- South African applicants: get an extra set of sealed transcripts as backup, in case a courier opens the originals.

Use placeholders if needed. No diploma yet? A "Letter of Expected Graduation" can stand in. TEFL not finished? An enrollment letter plus a Sworn Declaration may be accepted.

What happens after you submit
Here's the full path from your packet to the classroom:
- You mail your final documents to the Korvia office.
- The Korvia EPIK Team reviews your packet and sends feedback if anything's missing.
- Korvia forwards your packet to EPIK.
- EPIK reviews your documents.
- EPIK sends you to a Metropolitan/Provincial Office of Education (MOE/POE) for a job offer.
- The MOE/POE accepts you — that's your placement.
- On acceptance, your contract and Notice of Appointment (NOA) are issued for visa issuance.
- EPIK or Korvia sends the package to you.
- You apply for your E-2-2 visa at a Korean consulate or visa application center.
- You receive your visa grant notice.
- You arrive in Korea and attend EPIK orientation.
