Q.Who will I be teaching?
Local elementary students, from first graders starting with phonics up through upper grades doing conversation and reading. You'll work as part of a 5-teacher team at the community center, delivering after-school English classes in a relaxed, nurturing environment.
Q.Is this an after-school program or full-time?
HEC is a full-time position with classes held after regular school hours at the community center. The after-school schedule creates a more engaging, relaxed learning atmosphere and gives teachers flexibility during the day for planning and activities.
Q.What are the requirements and what documents do I need?
You must meet the standard E-2 requirements: citizenship from one of the 7 eligible countries, a 3–4 year bachelor's degree, a 100+ hour TEFL/TESOL certification, a clean criminal background check, and good health. The HEC initial application is streamlined — only the HEC application form, two letters of recommendation, and a professional photo are required upfront (simpler than EPIK).
