What Makes GIGE Special?

The Gyeonggido Institute for Global Education (GIGE) is dedicated to fostering global citizenship and intercultural understanding among students, parents, and community members in Gyeonggi Province. Q.Where is GIGE located?

GIGE is currently in Pyeongtaek but is relocating to Bundang, Seongnam — next to Migeum Station on the site of the former Cheongsol Middle School — before March 2026. The Sinbundang Line from Migeum reaches Gangnam Station in just 15–20 minutes, putting you in one of Gyeonggi Province's most desirable districts.

Q.What kinds of programs will I teach at GIGE?

GIGE runs Global Citizenship Education, English Experience programs (drama, conversation, hands-on activities), international exchange programs, English reading programs, and foreign-language competitions. You'll teach in specialized spaces including the AI Lab, Global Village, and Culture Zone alongside experienced Korean co-educators.

Q.Who are the students — kids, teens, or adults?

GIGE serves students from elementary through high school, plus parents and the wider Gyeonggi community. Student programs run during and after school hours; community programs include digital literacy, book talks, cultural media festivals, and parent training.

Q.What are the eligibility requirements?

You must be a citizen of one of the 7 E-2 eligible countries, hold a 3–4 year bachelor's degree, and have a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (or an education-related degree). You also need a clean national-level criminal background check and good health for the E-2 visa.
