Teaching at Korea Polyschool Gwangmyeong Campus
Reading-first English immersion across 60+ campuses (est. 1999)
Korea Poly School runs a proprietary reading-first curriculum aligned with North American Common Core State Standards and CEFR. Strict English-Only Policy (EOP) — all instruction is in English from drop-off to pick-up. The SMART UNIVERSE digital platform (POND, e-POLY, Wordit, Speaking Hub, Writing Hub) extends learning beyond the classroom. Class sizes are capped at 12; kindergarten classes have two teachers.
Lessons follow the KPS curriculum binder and Poly Mall textbooks, refreshed quarterly. Expect 2–3 hours/week for student reading assessments, level-progress notes, and parent-facing reports. SMART UNIVERSE app sequences are configured weekly.
Morning ECP kindergarten reading and phonics blocks (90-minute sessions), then ELE and GRAD after-school groups until 7–8 PM. Weekly team meetings align curriculum progress. Non-shared furnished housing, free airfare (advance), and a 1-month completion bonus are standard.
