Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada lists Languages Canada as an International Experience Canada recognized organization. Its outbound work includes opportunities for Canadian youth in English teaching, tourism, and hospitality.
In March 2026, Languages Canada and Academica Group presented research, supported by IRCC's IEC program, on the connection between language learning and Canadian youth mobility. The work identified gaps in participation data and called for closer collaboration among language programs and youth mobility organizations.
Languages Canada invited Korvia to share its current travel voucher offer. Korvia is also publishing this page so Canadians can compare EPIK, academy, E-2, and H-1 routes without treating them as one program. Joining the testimonial offer is optional and separate from Korvia's recruitment support. This page does not collect research responses or testimonials.
These routes can sit on the same page, but they do not have the same application process, visa rules, or voucher eligibility.

Explore private academy roles with individual school interviews and contracts. Teaching must begin only after the proper employment and immigration requirements are in place.

Explore a next role, ask about a lawful status change, or choose to share your Korea experience. Recruitment support and research participation remain separate.

H-1 visa holder or planner
Use H-1 to travel, experience daily life, and take temporary work the status permits. If you later receive an eligible teaching offer, you may be able to apply in Korea for E-2 status. Immigration must approve the change before you teach.

Public school route
EPIK publishes three application methods: direct, through an official MOU or MOA organization, or through a listed recruitment agency. An applicant should use one route for an intake.
Already submitted directly?
Stay with that route for the current intake. Korvia can still point you to general resources, but should not submit a duplicate application on your behalf.
Private school route
Private academies interview and hire for their own positions. The Korean Embassy in Canada publishes E-2-1 guidance for teaching at academies and at public or private schools that provide a visa issuance number.
What Korvia can do
Help a candidate compare roles, prepare for interviews, review practical contract points, and organize the recruitment process. A school offer is not a visa approval.
Current teacher route
A current or former E-2 teacher may be looking for a next role, a clearer transition, or a way to share day-to-day life in Korea. Those are separate decisions and should be handled separately.
A testimonial is not a hiring condition
Joining the Languages Canada offer is optional. Korvia's recruitment support does not depend on participation. Read Languages Canada's current consent terms before submitting a story.
Mobility route
An H-1 working holiday gives you time to travel in Korea and take temporary work that the status permits. It does not authorize foreign language teaching. The official guide says a switch to another status may be possible in limited circumstances, and anyone who wants to teach a foreign language must obtain E-2 status.
Why interview from Korea?
Living in Korea lets you meet an academy in person, check the commute and neighborhood, and ask questions face to face before accepting a job. You can decide after seeing more than a video call and a job description.
The two apostilles are not the whole application
For a Canadian academy applicant, apostilled proof of degree and an apostilled RCMP criminal record certificate are two core personal documents.
After an eligible offer, you and the employer must also prepare the employment contract, passport and Residence Card, a medical examination from a designated hospital that includes a drug test, employer establishment records, and any additional document requested during review.
Immigration decides each case. Do not begin teaching until the change to E-2 has been approved.

CAD 200
Languages Canada told Korvia that 20 vouchers are available, first come, first served. Approved recipients receive a CAD 200 travel voucher after agreeing to provide a short written or video testimonial. Languages Canada manages eligibility and awards.

Applicants must agree that Languages Canada may share their testimonial on its website and social media channels.

We do not present H-1 as a teaching visa. Work starts only when the role and immigration status are legally aligned.
Korvia can guide and prepare applicants, but schools, EPIK, consulates, and immigration authorities make their own decisions.
If a story is connected to a voucher or another benefit, the relationship and publication consent should be clear to the participant.
