What made you come to decide to teach in Korea?
I've been interested in Korean culture for years, and combined with a desire to work with children and travel, this was the perfect opportunity.
Do you speak Korean?
No, but I hope to study and learn through daily exposure.
What program did you come through and why?
I chose EPIK because I felt it was the perfect match for me in starting this journey.
When did you apply and which month did you start?
I applied in September/October 2019; I started in February 2020.
What documents did you need to apply?
You need a lot of different documents (some apostilled). The full list is available on Korvia or the EPIK website.
What's the hardest part in the application process?
Playing the waiting game between process steps. It feels lengthy but proves worthwhile.
How did your interview go? Tips?
I felt comfortable despite being nervous. Practise your answers beforehand and remember to smile.
Was getting your work visa easy?
Yes — if all required documents are prepared.

Passport, adaptors, money.
Which city did you place?
Daejeon. I'm enjoying it, though coronavirus has limited my exploration so far.
Describe 3 favourite parts in your city
Daiso, the food, and (still discovering — limited outdoor access for now).
Monthly expenses?
Internet ~25,000 KRW. Other categories I'm still tracking.

Korshare and Waygook websites.
Any advice?
Be flexible and ready for anything!
