Our Story

Shortly after announcing plans to radically expand the Native English Language programs throughout South Korea in late 2001 the Office of Ministry of Education realized they had neither the capacity nor ability to staff all Public Schools with Native English speaking staff. Shortly thereafter the head of the Education Ministry contacted a small but reputable company, KorVia Consulting, which specialized in the hiring and placement of qualified native speakers for a select few schools in the Public School system. Since then, having spread by word of mouth and becoming the #1 recommended agency, KorVia Consulting now works with more candidate teachers throughout the entire Public School system than any other agency in South Korea. In 2008 the Provincial Office of the Ministry of Education honored KorVia by awarding us their official endorsement as the most recommended agency assisting Native English Speaking Teachers and Public Schools with their staffing of Native English speaking positions.

With offices on the ground in both North America and South Korea staffed with bi-lingual, bi-cultural staff we are here to assist you wherever you are in any we can, 365- 24/7. The service to our teacher candidates begins with an initial phone conversation where we determine your preferences for location of school, and level students you are most comfortable working with. Middle school in Seoul? High School in Busan? Elementary School in Jeju? Our knowledgeable staff listens to you first and then determines which positions are available and ideal for you based on what your preferences are. Once that is determined we work with you during each phase of the hiring and visa application process staying in constant communication with you and making sure making all required documents are accounted for and filed with their respective offices. Not sure where to get an apostil, criminal background check or notarized copies of transcripts? No worries, we have all that information for you where ever you are from.

Let the journey begin! KorVia’s personal service to you during the initial hiring stage is just the beginning. We are here on the ground, with HQ offices located in downtown Seoul waiting to assist in you every facet of your new life in South Korea. Once your flight details have been confirmed we arrange for a personal “limousine” pick up service for you at Incheon International Airport. Upon arrival a personal driver will be waiting for you and will then gather and load all your personal belongings into a private vehicle and then bring you and all your belongings to your new home where you will be met by your co-teacher whom will be waiting to assist you in adjusting to your new home and surroundings. After settling in your 300,000 Korean won settlement allowance will be given to you by your co-teacher to assist you in picking up any incidentals you may require. Your co- teacher is also there to help you arrange your bank account, cell phone, Internet service or anything else you may need to set up life in South Korea. Soon after your arrival in South Korea KorVia will contact you for a follow up consultation interview to ensure everything has gone to plan, make sure you are adjusting well to your new life or find out if there is anything else you may need, or just to say hi!
